Both lifestyle factors and genetics play a big role in the health and cosmetic appearance of your smile. After all, everything from the food you eat to the medications you take to the normal aging process all have an effect on how white your teeth are. Factor in cosmetic damage like chips and cracks, gaps and spacing, and uneven/misshapen teeth, and your self-esteem can be severely affected. Fortunately, you don't have to settle for a damaged or unattractive smile—here at the Eastpointe, MI, office of Dr. Peter Jost, your dentist offers porcelain veneers to rejuvenate your smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry from our Eastpointe Office

Porcelain veneers are a great way to make a few subtle cosmetic improvements, or to makeover your entire smile. Veneers can change the size, shape, and color of a damaged tooth, and can correct a number of common cosmetic issues including:

  • Permanent stains and discolorations
  • Minor to moderate chips and cracks
  • Strengthen a fractured tooth
  • Close gaps and spacing between teeth
  • Reshape your teeth

If your teeth are healthy but you are unhappy with the way that your smile looks, veneers are a quick and minimally invasive option to improve this appearance!

How Veneers Work

Veneers are custom designed for your teeth using a razor-thin, translucent layer of porcelain that matches the color and texture of natural tooth enamel. In some cases, Dr. Jost may have to remove a thin layer of enamel for the tooth before placing the veneer for a smooth fit. Veneers usually require at least two appointments, the first of which involves Dr. Jost taking an impression of your teeth to then be sent to an offsite lab where the veneers are produced. Once your restorations are created, you will return to the dentist's office for a second appointment to have them applied.
